Imagine an Office application (with Word being the example) within a web browser; that's essentially what the Microsoft Office Online suite looks like. One major difference between using the Desktop app and the Online app is that the Online app saves files directly to your OneDrive as opposed to having to find a place to save it such as when you save using the Desktop application.
